Meet our Writers!
Our community is a huge part of LUNA, and so we are so pleased to be able to introduce some of the wonderful people who are part of that community!
If you would like to become part of the LUNA community, and are interested in writing for the blog or taking part in projects, just email us at ! We would love to hear from you!
Hey! I’m Rachael and I’m a student studying French and Spanish at Glasgow Uni. I discovered The LUNA Project when I was nearing the end of chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I thought it would be a great place to process what I’d been through by writing about my experience. I felt that I had gained a sense of empathy for those suffering chronic illnesses, through my own experience. I’ve ended up writing about more than just cancer and I love being a part of this community!
I love reading and drawing, and travelling; not so much rn due to corona tho
I'm a student and massive history nerd who loves gaming and musicals. I used to write a lot when I was younger and have combined that with my love of campaigning and activism to write about my illness, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, and disability issues. I enjoy writing for LUNA because the team is really lovely and welcoming and it's a great way to raise awareness!
Hi I’m Jenny Barron, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Edinburgh! I was diagnosed with diabetes at aged 9 and have been finding new ways to cope with the condition ever since. I’m passionate about telling and listening to stories about the ways we can look after ourselves and each other better!
Elliot Denton (he/him)
Hello! My name is Elliot Denton (he/him) and I’m a 20 year old male from Leeds. I’m a final year International Business Management and German student at Newcastle University. I’m also head of discussions at the University’s mental health society Mind the Gap. I’ve written a couple pieces for Luna around mental health, commenting about both my own experiences as well as advice for others.
Luna has granted me a fantastic platform to truly express myself through writing and also educated me in many important topics. Talking about mental health is always hard, but thanks to Luna I’ve been able to comfortably share my experiences which will hopefully benefit other people. I look forward to seeing Luna grow and I’m honoured to assist them wherever I can!
I'm Jack in 18 years old and I suffer from arthritis with a side neurological issues thrown in for good measure. I've always been an advocate for speaking out in regards to health and wellbeing. When I was 11 I began volunteering and eventually chairing my local hospital youth forum. It was a pleasure to help and give back so when I turned an adult and edited paeds I looked for other ways I could give back aswell. So now I write the odd blog for luna and help out where I can.
